Celebrating 40 Years of Heartland Hockey Magic

This summer marks a significant milestone in Heartland Hockey Camp history as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. As we gear up for our 40th summer, we’d like to take a moment to honor the legacy of our founders, Sandy and Steve Jensen, and to spotlight the extraordinary team that has been pivotal in making Heartland Hockey a world-class camp.

The legacy of Steve and Sandy Jensen is a story of passion, resilience, and an undying love for each other and the game of hockey. Though Steve is no longer with us (1955-2022), his experience as a US Olympian and NHL pro provided the technical foundation for the camp's program, while Sandy's operational acumen and culinary expertise created a welcoming, family-like atmosphere that has kept campers and staff returning year after year. Together, they built more than just a camp; they built a community.

Our staff is a team of highly experienced and passionate individuals dedicated to helping each camper improve their skills and reach their full potential on and off the ice. Their expertise and dedication under Sandy and Steve’s leadership have been indispensable. Each coach brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to the camp, contributing significantly to the development of our campers. The unique blend of top-tier hockey training, personal development, and instilling positive values is what sets Heartland Hockey Camp apart.

As we look to the future, Sandy and her staff remain committed to the principles that have made it a home away from home for so many. We are dedicated to continuing our founding principles of enriching the lives of young athletes through the spirit and love of hockey. With each passing year, we strive to offer an even more exceptional camp experience, fostering the next generation of hockey talent and building a stronger, more connected Heartland community.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we do so with a profound sense of gratitude for all who have been part of our journey—campers, parents, staff, and the broader Heartland family. Sandy Jensen and her amazing staff are looking forward to continuing the Heartland journey by making more memories, forging new friendships, and continuing to inspire hockey players worldwide. Here's to many more years of success, friendship, and hockey magic at Heartland Hockey Camp.

See you on the ice,

The Heartland Hockey Camp Family
