We have taken great pride over the years to develop various programs that emphasize fun and enthusiasm, along with focusing on building a positive self-esteem. Current Openings

Below is a brief description of the positions that are available. Heartland Hockey serves a variety of people and situations during our busy summer season and therefore, our employees are expected to be flexible and willing to work hard to provide our customers with the highest possible level of customer services. The earlier in the season you can start, and the later in August/September that you can stay is important to us in our selection process.

Most of the positions will have varied hours and will likely include nights and weekends. Additionally, because our facility is at it’s busiest during the summer holidays, most positions require employees to be available to work Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Coaches

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. We are looking for experienced coaches to help run our intense training program. Experience is a plus and must be great with kids. For this position please email us here.

Counselor

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. As a counselor you will be responsible for wake-up, put to bed, helping the coaches with scheduled events on and off the ice, as well as running recreational activities throughout the day. You will also assist in keeping the camp clean and working in other areas such as the snack bar, pro shop, and office. For this position we are looking for people to stay for either 4, or the full 7 weeks.

Jr. Counselor

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. As a Jr. counselor you will learn the daily routines from the counselors. You will assist the coaches with scheduled events on and off the ice, as well as assist in the running of recreational activities throughout the day, and help keep the camp clean. You may also assist the office. For this position you will work for 2 weeks. Once you have been a Jr. counselor for 2 weeks there becomes the possibility of being hired as a counselor the following summer.

Life Guard

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. You will be in charge of the camper’s safety down at our private lake during recreation time. You must posses a valid certification for lifeguarding as well as CPR and first aid for this position. The lake is not open all day so during off times or bad weather you will help out in other areas. Experience is required for this position. For this position we are looking for people to stay for either 4, or the full 7 weeks. Prefer someone to spend the entire summer.

Snack Bar

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. You will be in charge of running the snack bar daily. You will be responsible for serving the customers throughout the day as well as maintaining a clean environment. In addition you will assist in the ordering of supplies and be responsible for the daily revenue brought in and maintaining the campers bank accounts. Must be very good with money. For this position we are looking for someone to spend the full 7 weeks.

Pro Shop

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. You will be in charge of running the pro shop daily. Your responsibilities will include serving our customers, keeping the pro shop clean, organized, as well as stocked. You will assist in the ordering of products as well as deal with large amounts of money daily. Experience is a plus but not a must. For this position we are looking for someone to spend the full 7 weeks.

Boat Driver

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. You will be responsible for driving the boat during recreation time. You will pull water skiers, and tubers. The lake is not open all day so during off times or bad weather you will help out in other areas. You must posses a valid certification for CPR and first aid for this position. Experience is required for this position. For this position we are looking for someone to stay for either 4, or the full 7 weeks. Prefer someone to spend the entire summer.

Front Desk Administrative Assistant

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. You will help with front desk operations. You will assist in all areas of the camp as well as with the client questions, camper needs, staff needs, etc. For this position we are looking for someone to spend the full 7 weeks.

Housekeeping

For this position you will receive free room and board, as well as ice time. This is also a paid position and we will hire people that are local to the area. You will be responsible in keeping our camp clean in the dorms as well as the ice arena. If you are interesting in this position please email Sandy Jensen.

Kitchen Staff

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. For this position we are looking for cooks as well as dishwashers. You will assist in serving large quantities of meals throughout the day as well as keeping the kitchen and dining hall clean. For this position please email Sandy Jensen.

Athletic Trainer

For this position you will receive free room, board, as well as ice. This is also a paid position based on experience. You will be responsible for assisting campers when injured, and ensuring they take their medications. In addition you will make sure there is water during on ice and off ice activities. You will also make sure that we have the proper medical forms on file for all campers before they arrive and participate in camp. You must posses a valid certification for CPR and first aid for this position. Experience is required for this position. For this position we are looking for someone to stay for either 4, or the full 7 weeks. Prefer someone to spend the entire summer.
